Thanks for reading my blog on this website, via email subscription, using an RSS feed, or with a mobile device. I’d like to share all the options for accessing the content we produce here at the SMC to make it easy for you to access.
Please use these tips for your own blogs and social networking subscribers too!
Email and RSS: Choose Your Delivery Option
The best way to deliver content is whichever way people will actively use. That means you need options for distribution, and I use the word ‘distribution’ intentionally. Even the best posts and videos need outlets for people to plug-in to and receive your work. Here’s how I share:
RSS
RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary, and it’s a tool for delivering feeds that you can read in an aggregator like Google Reader. I like using RSS as sort of my own personal ‘Google News’ that I browse through in the morning with my coffee.
You can grab your own RSS feed to distribute for free at FeedBurner.com. Subscribe to Social Media Commando via RSS, along with your other favorite blogs, and you’ll have plenty of news and updates each morning to enjoy.
Email
Lots of readers prefer to have their news delivered instead of having to search for it using an RSS reader. That’s why I offer a free email subscription option, and you can too! FeedBurner gives you the code to create an email form for your website or blog. Mine is a little bit tricked out, but you can see it on the sidebar of my site on any page you land on (tip: make sure your email form is on every single page so readers always have the option to subscribe).
Please subscribe via email if you’d like to have Social Media Commando delivered each morning to your inbox:
Social Networking Subscribers
Social Networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have fragmented the way we receive our news and information, and that’s not a bad thing. We’re living in a permission based (inbound) world of data where people get to opt-in to join your community.
You can join my Twitter Community for Real Time Updates and News.
And we can talk on Facebook, where you can become a Social Media Commando Fan.
Video? Geez, I’ve got several channels, check out my SMC (and comedy/spoof) YouTube pages:
Sure, there’s more places I share Online, but this post is already running long and I don’t want to overwhelm you. I just want to say thanks for being part of the SMC community and contributing to the content that gets shared with thousands of people every day.
Where do you blog and share? Hit me up on Twitter or leave a comment below so I can read about what you’re up to!
