How many hours per week do you waste spend using Twitter?
I’m only half kidding about wasting time tweeting, because if you aren’t taking advantage of free 3rd party statistics, you don’t really know what followers like and what encourages them to spread your messages.
Free Social Media Analytics: Digging Into 3rd Party Applications
Most people use third party applications to submit to tweets. One of my favorites is called Hootsuite, and I love it because the service lets you schedule tweets and track clicks to the links you share, all from a single dashboard.
If you’re a Hootsuite user, navigate to the bottom of the page and click ‘Stats’ to quickly learn what your followers like most about your feed. People may tell you they like something, but the clicks reveal what truly resonates enough for someone to take action (and that action is what we can refer to as a ‘conversion’).
The better you understand the wants and likes of your audience, the quicker you can create a popular (maybe even ‘viral’) Twitter stream.
Why is that important? Well, no matter if you are an individual or a business, we all need to invest in personal branding to stay on top of our game. Relying on analytics is one of many critical factors needed to manage a successful social media presence, so I hope you make time to take a look at the tutorial I made just for you.
