Scribe SEO is Your WordPress Blog Posts ‘Big Red Pen’

UPDATE: I created a screencast demonstrating the benefits of using Scribe SEO. View the screencast at the end of this post…

Scribe SEOOne of the biggest challenges to writing a blog and creating websites is making sure your pages are optimized for search.

I love using WordPress, and the Thesis Theme in particular, but today we have a new service to review that can help your SEO efforts. It’s called Scribe.

Scribe was developed by Brian Clark, the guy who’s been bringing us thought provoking headlines over at Copyblogger for years. I gave the service a test drive and can see how it will benefit a lot of you Commandos out there.

Unlike popular WordPress plug-ins like “All in One SEO“, Scribe isn’t focused on providing you the space to enter keywords or meta data. Instead the service revolves around grading your copy and titles to make sure it ranks well in the SERPs. That’s why I refer to it as your blogs ‘big red pen’.

Scribe SEO ToolSo how does it work?

Simple. All you need to do is download a plug-in for WordPress and upload it to your dashboard, then enter the API key provided when you first sign up. Once the set up is finished the Scribe Content Optimizer tool appears on every page and post you create. I like the ability to analyze the content I create based on things like keyword and link density, all on the fly.

Let me make that last point clear: You can optimize posts and pages while you’re creating them, no need to navigate away from your content. There’s a simple ‘analyze’ button to select that displays a pop-up with several tabs educating you about your progress.

SEO is More than Mastering Keywords

Don’t get fooled into thinking you can sign up for Scribe and the next day your content will start ranking number one in the SERPs. Good optimization requires time for your posts and pages to climb the charts. And I don’t want you trying to ‘beat the test’ so to speak. Pulling down a score of 100% is cool, but if your content really sucks and is unreadable, then what’s the point? After all, Google just ranks websites, it’s up to real people to make the decision to click on them.

Ready to give Scribe a shot?

Awesome! Before you reach for your credit card, check out the free test drive you can use to demo the service.
