I can't disagree with you on any of those points.

For me it just sort of comes down to what tribe you're most comfortable with, and for me that's definitely WordPress. I believe they have a more robust library of plug-ins, and Thesis is really a game changer for me because of the new design templates it's allowed me to customize.

So there it is, my own biased affection for WordPress on display for everyone to see :-)

OK, cool. but I can update posts, comments, links and design in a matter of minutes on typepad too. I'm constantly tweaking my posts. No coding. Trust me, I don't code. But I do have an image driven blog that's easy to manage on Typepad.

I guess my next step is to try thesis for myself to see if it's easier, because so far it doesn't seem that much better than typepad. At least, I haven't heard a convincing arguement, except that typepad has such sucky support, so that when there's something I can't figure out, they are no help at all. That's what I'm hoping is better on Wordpress. Other than that, they seem the same.

thanks. Your neighbor on Pine Street. Liza

Hi Liza,

Thanks for the comment. Yes, this site runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress (so do all of my websites). I love using Thesis because it makes design, SEO and content management so simple.

How Simple?

Well, if I want to make an update to links, content or design it takes me a matter of minutes instead of hours spent coding. If you're looking for an easier and more robust solution, I highly recommend both WordPress and the Thesis Theme.

I'm trying to decide between typepad and wordpress thesis for my next blog. I use typepad now. Typepad has good CMS I think, but is complicated at the back end and has terrible support. I mean, scandalously terrible. On the other hand, I'm familiar with it by now. Anyway, thanks for the strong wordpress recommendation. Will consider it. But have you used WP Thesis?
