I’m flying to Atlanta this morning (And away from the single digit temperatures here in Burlington, VT) to visit with Subaru. Along with my MacBook, I’m making room in my carry on for the Panasonic Lumix GX1 that arrived in the mail last week.
For small business owners who want to capture some media while traveling, I recommend looking into a micro four thirds (mirrorless) camera like the GX1.
What gets me excited about this type of camera is that it allows you to snap photos and HD video with a single device. Larger DSLR’s like the Nikon D5100 are fantastic, but they can be a little prohibitive in terms of size while traveling.
Check out the test drive video I shot using my new Lumix GX1 this weekend (The side shots were taken with a Nikon D5100 — that’s what achieved the ‘Bokeh’ blur effect in the background. You can achieve the same with the Lumix but it requires a ‘pancake’ lens.):
