People get so caught up with HD video and that half of what you "see" when you experience video is actually what you hear. Good audio is essential for journalists. I think the iPhone is a great tool to have as a reporter because of its portability and ability to transmit from the field. In this sense, it's really been a game changer for the breaking news game. However, I don't think it's reached the point where it can truly replace a camera, video camera or laptop in the field. Still, it's a great tool to have in a reporter's arsenal. Joe,

I think the iPhone is a great tool to have as a reporter because of its portability and ability to transmit from the field. In this sense, it’s really been a game changer for the breaking news game.

However, I don’t think it’s reached the point where it can truly replace a camera, video camera or laptop in the field. Still, it’s a great tool to have in a reporter’s arsenal.
