qual-i-ty, noun: high grade; superiority; excellence
I haven’t blogged in a week. Nope, I’m not killing my blog, I’ve just been thinking a hell of a lot about the way information works (Basically, the system is broken).
We’re all running around like chickens with our heads cut off (me included), rushing to consume and digest more and more data. Twitter. Facebook. Blogs. Bits and bytes.
Hamlet’s BlackBerry
So fast forward a few days — I’m listening to National Public Radio and a story comes on discussing the need to unplug. It was focused on the author of a new book called Hamlet’s BlackBerry, who doesn’t own a smartphone and turns his modem off every weekend.
And he loves technology.
But he also realizes he can’t enjoy all the tech advancements when you’re so damn focused on all the shiny objects coming down the pike 24/7. So I’m saying “No thanks” to pumping out a post every day IF it comes at the expense of quality. Hell, you don’t need it, and I can’t stand writing something that’s not going to be used.
Is Google Making Us Stupid?
You might have read the Atlantic story called ‘Is Google Making Us Stupid?‘ that focuses on what the ‘Always On’ information source has done to the way we learn and process information. Basically, we like sound bytes.
I don’t want to write quick little posts if I have more than 300 words on my mind, and it takes that much language to get a profitable idea across. But I won’t drag it out if the point can be made in 100 or less, either.
So let’s get moving again.
If you want to learn how to build and design a kick ass website, optimize the hell out of that bad boy and grab some wicked resources for the entrepreneur inside you — keep an eye on this blog…
