2 Simple Steps for Creating a Custom Box

by Social Media Commando on November 10, 2009

Thesis-ThemeSocial Media Commando is sporting a new look today. I just added a custom ‘after the post’ box and I’d like to show you how to do the same thing. Adding the box couldn’t be simpler and it’s a killer customization.

After the Post Box: Your Special Message Center

The reason you may want to add a custom box to all of your blog posts is because it saves time typing a custom message every time you post, it’s very clean and stylized, and you gain the opportunity to share an important message with all your readers every single time they click on a post of yours.

My custom box showcases the Thesis Theme because that is what this blog runs on. Thesis is like the skeleton that holds all the information and design you see here together. By the way, if you do buy the Theme from my link, I do make a couple of bucks (beer money, nothing I would call making a living). I just wanted to be clear about that.

So here’s the tutorial video I put together for you. Watch and enjoy!:

Social Media Commando runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

thesis-thumbsThesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you're a blogger who doesn't understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give you a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like Social Media Commando, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

  • Hi Joe,
You should provide a link to the source. ;-)
    Cheers.
  • Hey man,

Sorry -- I included your link in the video but not the post. Just corrected it.

Thanks for your great tutorial, it's a "must read"!
