About

Joe-MescherJoe Mescher, aka Social Media Commando, is a Social Media speaker who lives in Burlington, Vermont with his wife and family.

Joe has been interested in ‘anything electronic’ since he was five years old (that is a direct quote from his mother). The same excitement he exhibited for Nintendo and Walkie-Talkies as a child has translated into a burning passion for communicating using Social Media.

What makes Joe Mescher different from the horde of so-called ‘Social Media Experts’?

Social Media isn’t about experts, or the number of people who follow you on Twitter, it’s about conversations.

Starting real conversations with people is like saying is, “I’m interested in who you are and have a stake in your success.” The reason Joe started this website is to prove that conversations, combined with goals and a non-traditional Social Media plan, create profitable relationships.

Conversations Build Better Brands

Why do you want to ‘Build a Brand’ or ‘Employ Social Media’?

What are your goals and desires and aspirations?

Have you taken the time to write them down and discuss with friends, family, and people who can provide insight?

Do you use Twitter, Facebook, Blogs and other tools as a sounding board, or do you want to affect some change in your situation and your community? Joe can teach you how to ditch the experts and express yourself with a little creative branding.

He’s done it for himself, for charitable efforts like the Vermont Video Resume Project, and on a continuing basis as a representative of the Michigan State University Young Alumni program.

Joe started going against the grain back in college. At Michigan State University he was the guy investing time having face to face conversations to learn what people are really interested in, and using Social Media as a tool to further these conversations.
